The object's story and details
A palm appears patched together from fragments, its painted stitches visible. Modelled from recycled cardboard and flour, the bas-relief literally reinterprets a Romanian expression for slapping someone.
The stitches are the drawing of the hand itself, left visible so the verb can be read in the object. Texture and volume carry the wordplay into a composition to examine up close.
Technique: Hardened papier-mâché bas-relief made from recycled cardboard and flour, dried in an oven
Dimensions: 30 × 23 cm
