The object's story and details
A shard appears to look mockingly at a broken pot. Made from recycled cardboard and flour, the bas-relief illustrates the Romanian equivalent of “the pot calling the kettle black”, about faults we spot more easily in others.
The two fragments’ proximity makes the proverb a scene to look at. Crack and shard remain visible details, with humour built from the resemblance between the one judging and the one being judged.
Technique: Hardened papier-mâché bas-relief made from recycled cardboard and flour, dried in an oven
Dimensions: 27 × 30 cm
