The object's story and details
A person and a bear hold hands in a papier-mâché relief. The work draws on the Romanian retort “take the bear for a walk”, used to tell someone to go away. The material is made from recycled cardboard and flour, then oven-baked.
The closeness of the two figures shifts a dismissive remark into a small scene of togetherness. That is the work’s play: a sharp expression gains a gesture that can be seen with humour.
