The object's story and details
A hand surrounded by red and yellow flames, modelled in papier-mâché. The work draws on the Romanian expression “putting your hand in the fire”, said when you vouch for someone or something.
Flames give visible form to the risk hidden in the expression. The hand remains at the composition’s centre, between a gesture of trust and the tangible image called up by the words.
Dimensions: 29 × 33 cm
