The object's story and details
A hammer strikes in one place, while a crack appears elsewhere. The work illustrates the Romanian saying “you strike here, it cracks there”: the consequences of a gesture may appear where you least expect them.
The distance between the blow and the crack builds the work’s play. The eye travels between parts of the composition, just as the expression shifts attention from intention to consequences.
