The object's story and details
The small Caloian table lamp is hand-shaped from recycled paper in papier-mâché and decorated with gold-coloured metal leaf. Its name comes from my mother's stories about the rainmaking ritual. The sphere is approximately 22 cm in diameter and 24 cm high.
The detail in the name brings the lamp’s story close to family memory, while the modelled surface retains traces of handwork. Golden leaf complements its small form without hiding the material.
