The object's story and details
I recreated a cherished image of an embrace in leather. The work brings together more than 1,000 small pieces left over from shoes made by the cobbler near the workshop. Each fragment was placed to form the two figures.
The fragments are small enough to build the two figures’ gesture while remaining part of the work’s texture. Leather changes purpose, becoming a material for an image of closeness.
