The object's story and details
A table lamp made from recycled cardboard and paper in papier-mâché, decorated with gold-coloured metal leaf. The little figure on the edge of the shade gave it the name Caloian. I made it thinking of my mother's stories about the rainmaking ritual. The sphere has a maximum diameter of 28 cm and is approximately 24 cm high.
The lamp’s story also holds the memory of three days of rain accompanying its making and bringing the Caloian tradition back to mind. The incident remained linked to the lamp’s name.
